This Website is honoring some of the many black people who, despite being part of an ethnic group disenfranchised for centuries, were responsibile for a such vast positive impact on society. It would be hard to imagine life today without their constributions.

The global #BLN movement is awe inspiring, and reminded me of a documentary I saw a few years back, mentioning an African American who invited the modern gas mask, and even made it available free of patent charges as the World War unraveled.I remember thinking: how many more of these colored pioneers of modern life are out there, who developed essential contributions to our modern life, but we as the general mainstream never heard about ?
After some research it became clear that some of the many of the foundations of our modern world, from GPS, to satellite maps to the home security system wouldn’t have been possible without these essential people of color.
Just now, I completed this awareness project to highlight black people's innovations, technological breakthroughs and accomplishments for all of society - I’m sure it’s relevant to a site as tech/innovation focused as yours.Have a look, I’m sure you will be surprised by how much of our modern world depends on the contributions of black people!
